Shane Coppersmith has dedicated over a decade to sustainability and environmental stewardship, transforming his passion into impactful action. Starting as a high school science teacher, he made complex environmental concepts accessible, fostering a deep understanding of sustainable living. Recognizing the need to reach a wider audience, he launched “Sustainable Shane,” a dynamic social media platform that shares practical sustainability tips and engages a diverse community.
His hands-on commitment extends to leading the Ocean Beach Community Garden, where he’s implemented community-driven sustainability efforts. To further his expertise, Shane earned certifications in Zero Waste and Life Cycle Assessments, deepening his knowledge of sustainable practices. Beyond his environmental work, Shane has also gained valuable experience through modeling and commercial acting jobs, enhancing his ability to connect with diverse audiences and communicate effectively.
Now focused on the private sector, Shane’s long-term goal is to become a Chief Sustainability Officer at an action sports apparel company. He aims to leverage his unique blend of education, community engagement, certifications, and public-facing experience to drive significant environmental change within the industry.
